This sequel to Shadow Man by Cody McFadyen is as gripping as the first novel. The team are back to investigate a spate of gruesome murders unsure if they are investigating one serial killer or a partnership of serial killers.
This book gives the characters even more depth than the last book, which gives you a deeper understanding and a better connection with the reader to the individual characters and the book itself.
A good example of this is shown through the eyes of what the main character (Smoky) has endured during the events of the previous book with the tough job at hand, personal loss and taking care of colleagues and fostering that in other aspects of her personal life all at once. But also, the pull of the hard and difficult decisions required in the job the job they do. The author also explains in good detail the individual job titles each character has and everting their roles entail.
As you read through this novel you can see a great deal of research has been done by the author to detail the varied roles. This book keeps the reader hooked per page and chapter and enlightens the reader to how tough being a member of the FBI is personally, physically, emotionally and mentally through the eyes of Smoky.
